Kia has expanded the lineup of its premium MPV, the Kia Carens Clavis, by introducing new automatic variants for its lower-spec trims. This update makes the turbo-petrol DCT and diesel AT powertrains significantly more accessible and budget-friendly for buyers. The HTE(O) trim is now offered with a 160 hp 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, carrying an ex-showroom price of Rs 14.67 lakh.
Most Affordable Automatic And Diesel Options
This version now stands as the cheapest automatic variant available in the Carens Clavis lineup. Within the same HTE(O) trim, a combination of an 116 hp 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic has also been added, priced at Rs 15.82 lakh. Furthermore, the HTE(EX) trim has been introduced with the turbo-petrol DCT setup, carrying a price tag of Rs 15.22 lakh. These new options bring automatic transmissions within easier reach for budget-conscious buyers looking for enhanced driving convenience.
Trim Expansion And Special Automatic Pack
The HTE(O) now arrives right above the base trim level with both powertrain choices. Previously, these specific combinations were restricted only to the higher-tier trims. By adding the turbo-petrol DCT to the HTE(EX) as well, the manufacturer has successfully broadened the reach of automatic options in the mid-lower segment. Both of these new variants are available in a standard 7-seater configuration layout.
Alongside these new automatic variants, the company is offering an automatic pack. This package includes a smart key equipped with a motion sensor, push-button start and stop functionality, distinct drive modes covering eco, normal, and sport settings, an electronic parking brake, and remote engine start capabilities. These added features will deliver greater comfort compared to the manual transmission versions.
Updated Ex-Showroom Price List
According to the updated ex-showroom price list for India, the turbo-petrol DCT variants are priced as follows. The HTE(O) is available at Rs 14.67 lakh, HTE(EX) at Rs 15.22 lakh, HTK+ at Rs 16.85 lakh, HTK+(O) at Rs 17.86 lakh, HTX(O) at Rs 19.62 lakh, GTX at Rs 20.00 lakh, HTX(O) A at Rs 20.00 lakh, HTX+ at Rs 21.07 lakh, and both the GTX+ and X-Line are priced at Rs 21.79 lakh. In the diesel automatic category, the HTE(O) is listed at Rs 15.82 lakh and the HTK+ at Rs 17.57 lakh. It is worth noting that automatic transmissions are still omitted from certain trims such as the HTE and HTX. These mechanical and pricing updates make the vehicle even more appealing to families seeking automatic driving comfort without stretching their budget too far, while the rest of the model's powertrain and feature configurations remain completely unchanged.
