Law enforcement infrastructure in North Bihar is set for a major upgrade with the establishment of a dedicated regional headquarters and permanent complex for the Bihar Police Special Task Force in Darbhanga. The administrative groundwork for identifying and finalizing the site has reached its final stages. A high-level inspection was conducted at the proposed location to review land suitability, mark exact boundaries, and ensure all necessary logistical requirements are addressed before physical construction begins.
Top Officials Inspect Godhiyari Mauja Site
To expedite the building process, District Magistrate Kaushal Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Jagunath Reddy Jala Reddy carried out a joint field inspection on 31 August 2026. The inspection took place at the proposed plot situated in Godhiyari mauja within the Hanumannagar block. Both senior officials examined the physical condition of the site, total land availability, and overall feasibility for housing specialized security units, ensuring the location meets the strategic demands of such an installation.
On-Site Measurements and Technical Assessment
During the visit, administrative personnel thoroughly assessed available civic amenities and surrounding connectivity. An amin present at the spot conducted detailed land measurements to officially verify the plot boundaries and exact area. Engineers from the building construction department participated in the exercise, discussing architectural blueprints, required operational infrastructure, and technical parameters for the future headquarters. District officials indicated that remaining land allotment formalities will be concluded shortly, paving the way for construction work.
Ending Reliance on Patna for Specialized Operations
Operating a permanent regional headquarters in Darbhanga will significantly improve police readiness against organized crime across the northern districts of the state. Previously, local administrations had to depend on specialized units dispatched from the central headquarters in Patna whenever high-stakes interventions or crackdowns on criminal syndicates were required. Having tactical personnel permanently stationed in Darbhanga eliminates transit delays, enabling rapid deployment and vastly enhancing operational control over serious offenses throughout the region.
