An email threatening to blow up four schools in Danapur, on the outskirts of the Bihar capital Patna, set off panic among students, teachers and parents. As soon as the message came in, school administrators moved quickly to evacuate every child and staff member from the buildings, while police, the Bomb Disposal Squad and dog squad units rushed to the spot to comb through the campuses.
Four schools named in the threat
The schools that received the threat include Delhi Public School (DPS), covering both its senior and junior wings, Army Public School (APS), and Radiant International School, taking the total count of targeted institutions to four. Security teams fanned out across each campus, checking classrooms, corridors and open grounds inch by inch for anything suspicious.
Email claims a Khalistani terror link
According to early details, whoever sent the threatening email claimed to be linked to a Khalistani terrorist organisation and said the schools had been chosen as targets. None of these claims have been independently verified so far. Police are now working to trace where the email originated and identify the person or group behind it. As a precaution, all four schools were emptied out and students were handed over safely to their parents. Security has also been stepped up across the wider neighbourhood, with additional monitoring in surrounding areas.
Bomb squad and cyber cell join the probe
Danapur ASP Ajit Kumar said the threat reached all four schools through an email, and that police cleared every campus and threw up a security cordon as soon as the alert came in. The Bomb Disposal Squad, dog squad and other specialist teams are carrying out a thorough sweep of the entire premises. So far, no suspicious object has been confirmed at any of the locations. Investigators are trying to pin down both the sender's identity and the source of the email, with cyber experts also assisting the probe. Extra police personnel have been posted on the school grounds and in the surrounding localities as a safety measure. The investigation is continuing, and police have urged residents not to get swayed by rumours and to cooperate with instructions from the administration.
