A chilling crime has sent shockwaves through Bihar's Muzaffarpur district after a retired bank employee and his wife were found brutally murdered inside their own home on Monday. The perpetrators broke into the residence and executed the elderly couple in what appears to be a highly planned attack, leaving the local community in a state of panic.
Bound and Gagged Before the Killings
The horrific incident took place in the Rambagh Chaudi locality, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mithanpura police station. According to initial reports, unknown assailants targeted the home of Ashok Kumar, a retired banking professional. In a gruesome display of violence, the criminals tied the legs of Kumar's wife with a rope and sealed her mouth with tape before carrying out the murders. The attackers made sure she could not call for help before executing both victims. The exact sequence of events leading up to their tragic deaths remains under intense police scrutiny.
Police Investigation and Unclear Motive
Following the discovery of the bodies, panic quickly spread across the neighbourhood. Local officers from the Mithanpura police station, accompanied by senior district officials, immediately rushed to the crime scene to secure the area and initiate a thorough probe. Muzaffarpur's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) confirmed the double homicide, noting that both victims bore visible injury marks on their bodies.
Search for the Culprits Continues
Despite the presence of severe wounds, investigators have not yet been able to definitively determine the exact murder weapon. Authorities are still working to clarify whether the couple was shot to death or fatally stabbed with a sharp object. Forensic teams are actively collecting crucial evidence from the house to piece together the crime. Meanwhile, the police have launched a massive manhunt to identify and apprehend the unknown attackers, while simultaneously investigating all possible motives behind the gruesome killings of the elderly couple.
