A major anti-corruption operation has unfolded in Bihar. Teams from the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) have simultaneously raided six premises linked to Pawan Kumar, a Superintending Engineer in the Building Construction Department. He is accused of accumulating assets worth Rs 3.89 crore, around 104 percent more than his known income. The entire operation is being carried out on the basis of search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Patna.
According to the EOU, a case of amassing assets disproportionate to income has been registered against Pawan Kumar. The investigation alleges he acquired illegal assets worth exactly Rs 3 crore 89 lakh 79 thousand. That figure is said to be about 103.94 percent higher than his known income.
Six Premises Searched at Once
The raids are running at six different locations at the same time. These include a flat in the Yamuna Niwas Apartment in North Srikrishnapuri, Patna, his office in Patna, a house in Anandgarh Colony, Tilkamanjhi in Bhagalpur, a flat in Noida Sector-75, another residential property in Noida, and a flat in Dwarka Sector-10 in New Delhi. Separate EOU teams reached all these spots together.
What Investigators Are Examining
During the searches, the teams are closely examining property documents, bank accounts, investments, cash, jewellery and other financial records. Officials say the official details of seizures and other facts will be shared only after the searches are complete.

Pawan Kumar currently serves as Superintending Engineer in Building Nirupan Zone-1, Patna, of the Building Construction Department. Alongside this, he also holds additional charge as Director, Nirupan Unit, Patna Building Division.

The search operation is still under way. The investigating agency has made it clear that a detailed press note will be issued once the action is complete, laying out the full account of seized documents, cash, jewellery and other assets. All eyes are now on where this case heads next.
