Authorities in Patna, the capital city of Bihar, have successfully rescued a minor girl who had been abducted from the Paliganj area. Following an investigation into the kidnapping, police conducted a targeted raid on a hotel situated within the Agam Kuan police station jurisdiction on Tuesday, where the victim was recovered safely. During this operation, law enforcement arrested a total of 11 individuals, including two female dancers, who were present at the scene.
The Hotel Raid and Rescue
Providing details on the case, City Superintendent of Police Shailaja explained that the breakthrough began with the initial arrest of Amit Kumar. During interrogation, Amit disclosed that after the kidnapping, the minor was held at the residence of a dancer named Arti Kumari, located in Mithapur, Jakkanpur. Upon receiving this intelligence, police immediately raided Arti Kumari's residence, though she was not found there at that time. Subsequently, authorities learned that she had relocated to the Ganga Mahal Hotel near Zero Mile. Police teams moved quickly to conduct a raid at the hotel, where they successfully rescued the minor girl from one of the rooms. Two women and eight men were found inside, all of whom were taken into police custody.
Conspiracy Under the Guise of Dance
Preliminary investigations suggest that this incident was part of a broader, organized criminal effort. Arti and Rupa allegedly lured the minor from Paliganj by promising her opportunities in the dance industry. After she was brought to Patna, she was initially kept in a rented house in Mithapur before being moved to the Ganga Mahal Hotel. Investigators suspect the involvement of an organized gang that specializes in trapping young women through deception and false promises.
Attempted Gangrape
In her statement to the police, the minor victim reported that some of the men present in the hotel room attempted to commit gangrape against her. Based on the victim's account, police have initiated formal legal proceedings under the relevant sections of the law.
Arrest of the Accused
City Superintendent of Police Shailaja confirmed that the hotel room has been sealed as a crime scene, and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has collected critical evidence from the site. The individuals arrested in the case include dancers Arti Kumari (23) and Rupa Kumari (22). The male suspects arrested are Nikhil Kumar (22), Ayush Kumar (24), Nishant Kumar (24), Amarjeet (22), Kundan (21), Akshay Narayan (21), Prithviraj (19), Divyansh Kumar (19), and Amit Kumar (18). The police are currently investigating the larger network behind this incident, and officials have stated that if further investigations uncover additional accomplices, they will also face strict legal action.
