Six days into its theatrical run, Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh's Dhamaal 4 is still pulling audiences into cinemas. The fourth instalment of the comedy franchise opened to mixed reviews from critics, but moviegoers have embraced it since day one. Collections have naturally slowed on working days, yet the film's grip on the box office remains firm.
Day 6 brings in Rs 6.50 crore, down from day 5
According to trade website Sacnilk, Dhamaal 4 earned Rs 6.50 crore on its sixth day across 11,137 shows. That is a decent number for a weekday, but it marks a 31.6 percent drop from the Rs 9.50 crore the film collected on day 5. With this, the film's total domestic net collection has climbed to Rs 89.75 crore, while its gross collection stands at Rs 107.11 crore.
Overseas numbers push worldwide total past Rs 124 crore
Dhamaal 4 is not just winning over audiences in India, it is also finding takers overseas. The film added Rs 1.25 crore from international markets on day 6, taking its total worldwide earnings to Rs 124.36 crore. At this pace, the film is now roughly Rs 10 crore short of entering the 100 crore club on domestic net collections.
The journey from opening day to now
Dhamaal 4 got off to a strong start, opening with a net collection of Rs 14 crore on day one. It picked up further momentum after that, earning Rs 22.50 crore on day two and a massive Rs 28.50 crore on day three, which fell on a Sunday. Day four, a Monday and therefore a working day, saw a sharp dip, with collections falling to Rs 8.75 crore net. By the end of four days, the film's total net collection stood at Rs 73.75 crore, with a gross collection of Rs 88.33 crore. On day five, the film regained a bit of ground, collecting Rs 9.50 crore net, before slowing again on day six.
A two decade old franchise with a stacked cast
Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 is the fourth film in a superhit comedy franchise that began nearly two decades ago in 2007. Like the earlier films in the series, its story is built around a set of quirky characters and a madcap treasure hunt, packed with comedy and family friendly humour. The film brings back franchise regulars Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Javed Jaffrey, who bring their trademark comic timing to the table, while Ajay Devgn adds his own brand of deadpan comedy to the mix. Ravi Kishan, Anjali Anand and Upendra Limaye round out the cast.
