The spy thriller Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, is maintaining its presence at the box office. On Tuesday, the movie witnessed a 10 percent increase in earnings, marking a slight acceleration in its performance. While the collections slowed down after the weekend, this midweek boost has provided a much-needed push. While the film is yet to reach the 50 crore net mark in India, its global footprint continues to expand significantly.
Tuesday Box Office Performance
As the first female-led film in the spy universe, Alpha performed better on Tuesday compared to Monday. Early reports indicate that the movie netted approximately 4.25 crore on its fifth day. This represents a 10.4 percent growth over the 3.85 crore earned on Monday. Industry observers note that the strategic decision to lower ticket prices at multiplex theaters paid off directly, drawing more families and youth back into the cinemas.
Domestic and International Reach
The film achieved a total domestic collection of approximately 4.89 crore across 7,173 shows nationwide. On its fifth day, Alpha contributed another 1.50 crore from international markets, bringing its total overseas gross collection to 19.80 crore. When combined with domestic figures, the movie's total worldwide collection has crossed 70.03 crore. With this steady momentum, trade analysts expect the spy thriller to touch the 100 crore mark in the coming days.
Journey in the Indian Market
Alpha opened on Friday with a net collection of approximately 9.25 crore. The movie saw a healthy surge over the weekend, with collections rising to 11.50 crore on Saturday and 15.90 crore on Sunday. Aggregating the latest data, the gross domestic collection in India stands at approximately 50.23 crore, with the total net collection reaching 42.10 crore.
Strategy and Cast Details
The fact that the film maintained its hold on working days highlights the effectiveness of its pricing strategy. This approach ensured that the footfalls remained high, particularly among family audiences and younger viewers. Produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, Alpha is written by Uday Chopra and directed by Shiv Rawail. The movie features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. Additionally, the film includes a high-impact cameo by Hrithik Roshan, who reprises his iconic avatar of Kabir from the film War.
