Ranveer Singh's father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, has officially approached the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association, commonly known as IMPPA. He held a crucial meeting with the organization's representatives to address the ongoing dispute involving his son. The intervention comes in response to a massive Rs 45 crore damage claim brought forward by Farhan Akhtar after the actor walked away from the project midway. The actor's father has now formally challenged this hefty financial claim before the industry body.

Jagjit Singh Bhavnani met with IMPPA representatives on a Tuesday to present his son's side of the story and handed over all relevant documents concerning the controversy. The association's legal team is now tasked with reviewing these records before determining the next course of action. Prior to this, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had already registered a formal complaint with IMPPA, submitting extensive paperwork related to Don 3. Their submission included the signed contract featuring Ranveer Singh's signature, communication records, text messages, and other essential production documents.

IMPPA President Abhay Sinha earlier confirmed that the actor's legal representation is fully prepared to handle the subsequent proceedings. The association is currently evaluating the next steps required to reach a fair resolution for the deadlock. The controversy originally began in August 2023 when Don 3 was officially announced. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's production banner proudly declared that Ranveer Singh would take on the lead role in the franchise. Complications arose when the actor abruptly withdrew from the venture. Reports indicated that this decision came right as the initial shooting schedule was about to commence, with makers having completed preparations and an entire crew already traveling abroad.
