From a sinus infection to a shoulder injury, how the health scare unfolded
Pawan Kalyan has been in the news over his health for the past several months. It began with a sinus problem that gradually worsened until the infection reached his eye, forcing him to undergo surgery at that time as well. Not long after, an old injury to his right shoulder resurfaced, and his condition worsened enough that he had to be hospitalised again.
Shoulder surgery performed on July 11
Pawan Kalyan was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where doctors operated on a rotator cuff injury in his shoulder on July 11, 2026. Earlier this week, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally visited him at the hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.

After the surgery was successfully completed, Pawan Kalyan was discharged from the hospital today. Marking the occasion, his wife Anna Kalyan shared photographs from the hospital and thanked the doctors and staff. In her Instagram post, she wrote, "Today we are finally discharged from the hospital and our hearts are filled with gratitude. Heartfelt thanks to this wonderful team for taking such excellent care of my husband and performing his surgery with so much skill and professionalism. We knew he was in the best hands, and that gave our family something priceless, peace of mind."

On the work front, Pawan Kalyan was last seen in the Telugu action drama Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which also starred Sreeleela and Rashi Khanna in lead roles. However, the film failed to make much impact at the box office. Ustaad Bhagat Singh is now streaming on the OTT platform Netflix. Next, Pawan Kalyan will appear in the sequel to the 2025 film They Call Him OG, directed by Sujeeth, which is currently titled OG 2.
