Nagarjuna's younger son Akhil Akkineni is currently making headlines for his recently released film 'Lenin', which is creating a stir at the box office. Akhil marked his return to the big screen with 'Lenin' after a three year gap, and the film has given him the biggest opening of his career so far. Despite receiving mixed reactions from critics, 'Lenin' continues to perform strongly at the ticket window. Now, on the back of this success, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi has shared a heartfelt message for Akhil Akkineni, calling him his 'second son'.
Chiranjeevi praises Akhil's performance in Lenin
Chiranjeevi took to X to share a post praising Akhil's performance and congratulating the entire team of 'Lenin' for the response the film has been receiving. In his post, he wrote, "Hearing so many wonderful things about Lenin, and it makes me very happy to hear the praise the film is getting from every corner. Especially seeing Akhil Akkineni's performance. Akhil is like a second son to me, and it gives me great joy to see him grow with every film. Congratulations to my dear friend Nagarjuna and the entire cast and crew of Lenin. Looking forward to watching 'Lenin' soon. Wishing the film great success." The warmth of Chiranjeevi's message struck a chord with fans on social media, reflecting the mutual respect and affection shared between two of Telugu cinema's leading families.
Nagarjuna thanks Chiranjeevi for his support
As soon as Chiranjeevi's post went up, Nagarjuna responded, thanking him for always standing by his family. Nagarjuna wrote, "Thank you so much Chiranjeevi garu, you have always stood like a strong support for me and my family... please do watch the film, and I promise you will love it!!" His reply too reflected the years of trust and closeness between the two families, built up over a long association in the Telugu film industry.
Akhil also expresses his gratitude
Akhil also responded to Chiranjeevi's emotional message. He wrote, "Peda Nana... your love always touches my heart. Thank you for all your support. Please do watch the film. See you soon." Earlier, during the success meet of 'Lenin' on Sunday, Nagarjuna had spoken about a serious accident Akhil suffered about two years ago. He revealed that Akhil was badly injured by glass around two years back, an injury that nearly cut through his nerve. As a result of the injury, Akhil's hand had no sensation for several months. Despite such a severe injury, Akhil made his comeback and went on to record the biggest opening of his career with 'Lenin'. Those close to the family believe that after such a long recovery and a patient wait, this success feels like an emotional victory for Akhil, not just a professional one.
