Anil Sharma had directed the 75-year-old actor in the 2024 feature film Vanvaas. Looking back at that collaboration, the filmmaker highlighted the warmth and down-to-earth demeanor that the veteran artist displayed throughout the production schedule. Rather than keeping any distance, he actively mingled with every member of the crew. On numerous occasions, he personally served food to people on the set with his own hands, leaving an indelible impression on everyone present through his genuine care and humility.

Timeline of His Final Moments in Goa
During his final hours, the actor was staying at his residence in Goa when his health deteriorated late at night. Around 2:30 am, he sent a text message to a friend mentioning that he was not feeling well. Because of the late hour, the message was not read immediately. The friend later placed a call and arrived at the house around 4:00 am, discovering him sweating profusely as his condition worsened and he began drifting out of consciousness.
His caretaker was sent to alert the medical facility, following which an ambulance was dispatched to the residence. An emergency medical team began administering cardiac massage on site before transporting him. He was admitted to a private hospital in the early hours of Thursday at around 4:30 am. A team of medical professionals attempted resuscitation for nearly 45 minutes, but despite their sustained efforts, he could not be revived and breathed his last at 5:20 am following a cardiac arrest.
