Renowned lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir, who faced widespread public criticism over the controversial dialogues in the 2023 release Adipurush, has once again openly admitted the failure of his film. Speaking to reporters during a recent media event held in Mumbai, he described the project as an unsuccessful attempt and stated that there should be no hesitation in accepting that it fell short of audience expectations. Simultaneously, he urged the public and the media not to draw comparisons between Adipurush and director Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic film Ramayana.
Acknowledging Adipurush's Failure and Pride in Its Music
Addressing the press in Mumbai, Manoj Muntashir shared his thoughts with complete candor regarding the upcoming project. He remarked that it would be best for everyone if Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is not compared with Adipurush. Elaborating on the past release, he noted that one should feel no shame in conceding that Adipurush failed to live up to the high hopes of the audience. He stressed that everyone associated with the production had put in immense dedication and hard work, yet the final outcome proved to be a failed endeavor. Nevertheless, he highlighted a silver lining by expressing satisfaction with the movie's soundtrack. Manoj Muntashir stated that he takes pride in how warmly the public embraced the music of Adipurush, while expressing optimism that the musical score of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will be equally grand and set benchmark records upon its release.
Praising Actor Yash and Wishing Success to the New Team
During the interaction, Manoj Muntashir extended his warmest wishes to the entire cast and crew behind Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus. He made a special mention of South Indian actor Yash, praising his exceptional talent and craft. Manoj Muntashir expressed confidence that Yash is an extraordinarily gifted artist who will look highly impactful and imposing in the role of Ravana. He emphasized that any film endeavor seeking to take Indian heritage, culture, and mythology to a prominent international stage deserves to succeed, adding that he genuinely hopes Ramayana achieves remarkable box office success.
Budget and Star Cast Details of Both Epic Projects
For context, director Om Raut's Adipurush was produced on a massive budget of 550 crore rupees. The star-studded project featured Prabhas portraying Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Mata Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. However, following its release, the film encountered intense backlash due to controversial dialogues and visual representations, ultimately resulting in a severe box office failure. In contrast, expectations are running high for Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming cinematic adaptation of Ramayana. This ambitious venture stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Laxman, alongside Yash as Ravana. The film's musical score is being composed by world-renowned musicians A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The recent release of its promotional trailer received an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers, significantly heightening anticipation across the globe.
