After dominating the digital streaming space, the widely popular crime franchise Mirzapur is set to make its theatrical debut. Ahead of its scheduled release on September 4, 'Mirzapur The Movie' has cleared its regulatory hurdle by securing approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Running for a total duration of 3 hours, 17 minutes, and 19 seconds, the film has been granted an 'A' (Adults Only) certification. This rating restricts cinema hall entry strictly to viewers who are 18 years of age or older.
Edits Imposed on Intimate Sequences
Before obtaining the final clearance, the film's creators were required to execute several mandatory edits mandated by the censoring body. The board directed the production team to reduce intimate sequences by 50 percent across both visual and audio elements. These edits targeted two specific scenes in the movie, one located in the first half and another in the second half. Following these alterations, a cumulative total of 35 seconds of bold content was trimmed from the final cut.
Modifications to Dialogue and Language
In addition to intimate visuals, the regulatory board also scrutinized the project's language and dialogue delivery. Profanity and explicit vocabulary were completely muted or removed in 4 separate instances. Furthermore, in 6 other places, abusive words were substituted with milder terms, alongside 1 structural correction made to a dialogue line. Significantly, the certification panel chose not to trim any of the high-intensity action or violence sequences present throughout the film.

The film underwent evaluation through the standard CBFC approval process, where the Examining Committee initially reviewed the project and outlined required modifications. Once the filmmakers implemented the suggested corrections, the Revising Committee re-examined the cut and granted the formal 'A' certificate.
