Marking the completion of twelve months since the establishment of Swadesh Eros, a prominent platform dedicated to preserving Indian craft heritage, the Ambani family organized a high-profile cultural celebration on Saturday evening. Held ahead of the Navratri festivities, the event paid tribute to feminine divine energy while putting the spotlight on indigenous design and master craftsmanship. Chaired by Nita Ambani of the Reliance Foundation, the gathering brought together prominent figures from the worlds of cinema, design, and business to celebrate the nation's rich handloom traditions.
Heritage Meets Modern Style on the Red Carpet
The styling chosen by the Ambani family members reflected a mix of traditional embroidery techniques and contemporary silhouettes. Shloka Mehta appeared in a multicoloured anarkali dress accented with geometric patterns, accessorized with a coordinated choker necklace and neatly tied-back hair. Beside her, Akash Ambani donned an elongated kurta in a deep plum-purple hue paired with white trousers and sandals.
Radhika Merchant opted for a draped, strapless gown in earthy tones, draped alongside an artisanal printed dupatta bearing paisley motifs and metallic detailing. She completed her appearance with tailored earrings, a sleek hairdo, a choker necklace, and a golden decorative potli handbag. Complementing the festive mood, Anant Ambani selected an embroidered midnight-blue sherwani highlighted with silver and golden threadwork across the fabric.
Host Family Showcases Timeless Textiles
Nita Ambani welcomed attendees in an ornate magenta and gold silk saree finished with intricate zari borders and surface detailing. She complemented the ensemble with a layered necklace and matching drop earrings. In contrast to the elaborate ethnic fabrics, Mukesh Ambani appeared in a timeless black suit paired with matching formal trousers, presenting an understated look for the evening.
Leading Entertainment Figures Join the Celebration
A large contingent from the film and creative industries attended the anniversary gathering. Guests included Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, Sara Ali Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Jacqueline Fernandez. They were joined by Jackie Shroff, Farah Khan, Gauahar Khan, Shanaya Kapoor, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, and Gauri Khan.
The attendees embraced the festive brief, turning out in artisanal sarees, detailed embroidery pieces, and timeless regional garments that showcased Indian textile mastery. Rather than serving merely as a retail milestone celebration, the gathering functioned as an ode to indigenous artisans, bringing national craft traditions to the forefront as the festive season approaches.
