A detailed traffic advisory issued by the authorities confirms that vehicular diversions will come into effect from 6 AM on Sunday across thirty critical junctions and arterials. Motorists have been formally urged to avoid non-essential travel through the heart of the capital, particularly around Connaught Place and the periphery of Jantar Mantar, where congestion and barricading are expected to peak.

Crucial Advisory For Airport, Railway, And Transit Commuters
Traffic personnel have urged travelers passing through New Delhi or Central Delhi en route to transit hubs like railway terminals, interstate bus terminuses (ISBTs), or the airport to buffer substantial extra travel time. Diversions on central corridors could cascade onto parallel arteries, making punctual arrival difficult without advance planning.
Citizens have also been requested to postpone avoidable travel across these specific corridors. Authorities highlighted that traffic management measures remain dynamic and will adapt continuously to ground realities, with curbs being relaxed or tightened based on local crowd movements and security assessments.
Protest Call By CJP Persists Despite Key Detentions
Following a tense October 10, the immediate surroundings of Jantar Mantar turned quiet by nightfall, with streets largely occupied by police personnel and paramilitary deployments. Metro stations that had experienced temporary closures earlier in the day were fully reopened to passengers. However, CJP announced that its demonstration will resume on Sunday, calling supporters back to Jantar Mantar.
This renewed call comes even as three prominent leaders of CJP, Abhijit Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka, remain in police custody. While October 10 proved demanding for security personnel, tight arrangements prevented unrest from escalating. The thirty-point diversion network starting early Sunday morning forms part of the ongoing effort to prevent disruption across the capital.
