The Disha Salian case has now been formally handed over to the CBI, and the agency is set to register a fresh FIR to investigate everyone whom Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian, believes is responsible for her death. Actor Suraj Pancholi's name figures on that list, and he is the son of actor Aditya Pancholi. Suraj Pancholi will become an accused in the case only if the CBI finds concrete evidence against him during its probe. Notably, he has previously faced a CBI investigation in the Jiya Khan case as well, and was cleared of the allegations back then for lack of evidence.
Suraj Pancholi breaks his silence
After his name surfaced in connection with the Disha Salian case, Suraj Pancholi has now reacted openly. He said he is repeating, once again, that he never knew who Disha Salian was. According to him, he never met Disha Salian in his life, never spoke to her over the phone, and never attended any of her events or parties. The actor said his earlier legal battle taught him that staying silent gets a person nowhere, adding that he had suffered in the past precisely because his silence let people spread false information about him on social media.
Choosing to speak despite his family's advice
Suraj Pancholi revealed that his family, once again, does not want him to say anything about the matter and would rather he stay away from it entirely and focus only on his acting career. But he made it clear that this time he will not stay quiet, because he refuses to become a soft target again. He said he does not want to be dragged into the case without any evidence, and does not want to go through the same trauma he had already been through once before.
What he said about his earlier statement on Disha Salian
Suraj Pancholi also referred back to a statement he had given earlier about Disha Salian. He said that in 2021, he had voluntarily recorded his statement with the CBI and the Malvani police in this matter. He reiterated that he has never met Disha Salian in his entire life and has nothing to do with the case. Suraj Pancholi said he wants Disha Salian's father to get justice. He added that if there is any evidence against him, he should simply be sent to jail, but if there isn't, then he should stop being dragged into the case for no reason, calling it unfair. The actor further said it makes no difference to him who is named an accused in the case and who isn't, since he has no connection to it, and that he is willing to give as many statements as required. He said the biggest lesson he has taken from this entire experience is that one must speak up, and appealed to people to stop repeatedly projecting him as a villain, saying he cannot go through that trauma all over again.
A warning of legal action
Suraj Pancholi ended his statement with a firm response to his critics, saying he will now take action against unverified reports being published about him. He said any irresponsible statement made against him, or any attempt to defame him, will be dealt with strictly through legal means going forward. He appealed to the media to verify facts thoroughly before making such irresponsible statements. Suraj Pancholi also appealed to the honourable High Court to direct the CBI to investigate the misleading publicity being generated by exploiting someone's tragic death.
