Superstar Yash is set to make a grand return to the big screen following the massive success of KGF: Chapter 2. Advance bookings for his highly anticipated action drama, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, have officially opened across India to an overwhelming response from moviegoers. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the feature experienced immediate momentum as soon as ticket counters opened. Within the first few hours of pre-sales, approximately 85,000 tickets were sold nationwide, with the largest volume coming from Yash's home state of Karnataka.
Domestic Box Office Performance and Trade Figures
Initial figures from the opening day of advance bookings demonstrate exceptional demand across regions. A total of 85,000 tickets were secured across 4,886 scheduled shows in India, generating a gross collection of Rs 4.10 crore excluding blocked seats. When factoring in seats set aside as blocked inventory, the cumulative advance booking figure rises to Rs 9.19 crore. With five days still remaining before the theatrical debut, trade expectations indicate that these pre-sales totals will see substantial upward growth in the coming days.
Dominance Across Karnataka Regions and Overseas Market
Karnataka leads the overall ticket sales chart, generating Rs 3.28 crore in bookings from 945 scheduled screenings. The state capital Bengaluru contributed Rs 2.4 crore alone across 636 shows. Beyond the capital, tier-two cities across Karnataka registered high theater occupancy rates. Tumakuru saw an occupancy rate of 83 percent, while both Mysuru and Shivamogga logged 66 percent occupancy. Raichur registered an occupancy figure of 69 percent. The Hindi-dubbed edition also opened on a solid note, selling 30,385 tickets across 5,569 shows to collect Rs 1.2 crore. Overseas, the film gained steady traction in the United States, selling 7,545 tickets across 709 shows in 260 locations to cross $163,150 in gross earnings.
Censor Board Clearance and Hyderabad Pre-Release Event
Ahead of its theatrical premiere, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the movie for release. The official certified runtime stands at 3 hours and 12 minutes. As part of the certification process, the board instructed the filmmakers to mute or modify two specific words and phrases in the main Kannada audio track, with corresponding adjustments mandated for the English subtitles. To celebrate the upcoming launch, the production team has scheduled a grand pre-release promotional event in Hyderabad, featuring Yash alongside the complete star cast.
