Preparations across the Indian e-commerce landscape are accelerating rapidly as platforms brace for an expected surge in consumer spending ahead of Diwali and other key celebrations. To handle this influx of orders and reinforce fulfillment networks, fashion and lifestyle major Myntra has rolled out more than 26,000 seasonal job opportunities. This hiring volume marks more than double the company's seasonal recruitment numbers from the previous year, highlighting the scale of logistical capability required for the upcoming shopping period.
Staffing Deployment Across Supply Chain and Customer Care
Created ahead of the platform's flagship Big Fashion Festival event, the seasonal openings span multiple operational touchpoints ranging from fulfillment centers to last-mile transport. Approximately 8,000 of these positions belong to delivery partners, while roughly 2,700 roles focus on customer service operations. The remainder of the temporary workforce will handle essential supply chain duties, including product sorting, quality grading, and packaging.
Workforce diversity remains a key focus within the recruitment drive, with more than 350 seasonal positions designated for persons with disabilities. Furthermore, women will comprise 30 percent of the total workforce stationed at fulfillment centers. The talent pool has been recruited across multiple states, including Odisha, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand. These recruits will support logistics operations across five major fulfillment hubs located in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bilaspur, and Binola.
Strengthening Fulfillment Speed and Express Turnaround
Managing the volume of holiday shopping consistently tests logistical resilience, particularly in fulfilling orders within committed delivery windows. The onboarding of these temporary workers is structured to fortify both back-end supply chains and distribution capacity. In turn, this workforce expansion supports targeted quick-turnaround services such as M-Express, which guarantees order delivery within 24 to 48 hours in designated locations.
Broader Festive Hiring Momentum Led by Flipkart
This expansion follows Flipkart's earlier announcement of creating over 2.50 lakh seasonal employment opportunities to manage festive market demand. Out of that total, around 75,000 positions were earmarked for first-time entrants into the workforce. Flipkart's recruitment supports an operational footprint of more than 7,000 eKart fulfillment hubs, sorting hubs, and last-mile centers nationwide. Together, these moves underscore how the festive period serves as a critical engine for short-term employment across logistics and e-retail ecosystems.
