North Central Railway has formally introduced a dedicated reserved express service connecting the national capital to Supaul in northern Bihar. Designated as train numbers 04072 and 04071, this festival special will complete an extensive run of 118 trips, providing vital travel options for numerous passengers heading toward Purvanchal and north Bihar destinations.
Departure Timings and Service Calendar
According to the official transit schedule, outbound train number 04072 departing from New Delhi to Supaul will operate daily starting 01 October 2026 through 28 November 2026. The service is scheduled to leave New Delhi every night at 9:35 PM, concluding its multi-state journey at Supaul on the third morning at 06:35 AM.
For the return leg, train number 04071 running from Supaul back to New Delhi will run daily between 03 October 2026 and 30 November 2026. It will start from Supaul each morning at 07:45 AM and arrive at New Delhi station by 3:00 PM on the following afternoon.
Coach Configuration and Intermediate Route Stoppages
To cater to varying passenger budgets, the train composition includes AC 3-Tier compartments alongside standard sleeper coaches and unreserved general class seating. This balanced arrangement ensures accessible ticketing choices across diverse income segments.

Upon crossing into Bihar, the train will provide connectivity through Chhapra, Sonepur, Hajipur, Shahpur Patoree, Barauni in Begusarai, Khagaria, Mansi, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, and Saharsa Junction before concluding its run at Supaul. Commuters heading home for festival celebrations have been advised to secure their tickets in advance via official railway booking applications or station reservation windows.
