The Horticultural Experiment and Training Center, operating under the district horticulture department, is launching a comprehensive 90-day beekeeping training program rooted in scientific methodologies. Designed to impart practical skills in honey production, the curriculum runs from September 16 through December 15, offering participants a structured pathway into a thriving rural industry.

The district has already carved out a distinct reputation for itself within the national and international honey production landscape, sending its agricultural sweetness far beyond domestic borders. Favorable geographical conditions and an agrarian climate make the region exceptionally well-suited for apiculture, prompting a steady rise in local production units and generating livelihoods for countless families. Building upon this established industrial footprint, the new training program seeks to expand local expertise and encourage more young entrepreneurs to step into the sector.
Nominal Fees and Practical Arrangements
To ensure that financial barriers do not hinder enthusiastic learners, authorities have kept the entry barrier remarkably low, setting the registration fee at just 10 rupees. Participants must note, however, that lodging and dietary arrangements during the three-month duration must be managed independently by the trainees themselves. Apiculture in-charge Narendra Singh Bisht emphasized that interested candidates must submit their applications well ahead of the September 15 cutoff date to secure a spot in the upcoming batch.
Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
Admission into the program is governed by straightforward eligibility criteria intended to maintain educational standards and manage batch capacity effectively. The entire application procedure is conducted strictly offline, requiring applicants to be at least 18 years of age with a minimum educational qualification of the eighth grade. Candidates must submit a passport-sized photograph along with a copy of their Aadhaar card as valid identification. Adhering to a first-come, first-served policy, the department will select only the first 40 applicants who complete their formalities.
Certification and Financial Support for Enterprise
Upon successfully concluding the 90-day curriculum, participants will be awarded a formal certification enabling them to engage in professional apiculture ventures anywhere across the country. Armed with this credential, trainees can leverage government backing and bank schemes to secure loans at zero percent interest, facilitating the launch of independent commercial operations that create jobs for others. Beyond commercial gains, expanded apiculture activity significantly enhances natural pollination processes, delivering substantial agricultural benefits to surrounding crop yields.
