During a public event held in Munger, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made a significant policy announcement aimed at supporting women in the state. Marking the completion of 100 days of his government, he detailed the upcoming release of the second phase of financial support under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. The state government intends to empower approximately 20 lakh identified women and members of Jivika Didis by providing them with the necessary capital to sustain their livelihoods.
Details on the Second Installment
The Chief Minister confirmed that a second installment of 20,000 rupees will soon be deposited into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. To ensure efficiency and prevent leakage, this amount will be transferred directly via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). This financial injection is specifically intended for women who utilized the initial 10,000 rupees grant to successfully establish their own micro-enterprises and are currently maintaining steady operations. The government views this additional funding as a vital step in helping these women scale their businesses and strengthen their financial independence.
Verification Process and Objectives
To ensure the integrity of the scheme, the Chief Minister noted that a thorough verification process is currently underway at both the village organization and block levels. This step ensures that the financial aid reaches only the deserving candidates who have demonstrated progress in their self-employment ventures. Transparency remains a core component of this initiative. He reiterated that economic empowerment of women stands as a primary agenda for his government, which is continuously exploring new avenues to create employment opportunities across the state.
Upcoming High-Level Visit
Concluding the session, Samrat Choudhary hinted at a major government event scheduled to take place in Bihar next month. He indicated that there is a high possibility of the Prime Minister or the Union Home Minister attending this function. However, he clarified that the final decision regarding the official schedule and logistical details will be announced through official channels at a later date.
