Significant progress has been made under the Dholpur to Sarmthura broad gauge project with the technical evaluation of its initial operational section. A newly constructed 19.8-kilometre railway line connecting Dholpur with Garhi Sandra underwent a rigorous inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS). E. Srinivas, the Commissioner of Railway Safety for the North Eastern Circle, headed a senior delegation of railway officials to assess the infrastructural integrity and operational preparedness of the track.
Inspection of Signalling Systems and Route Infrastructure
The safety assessment began at the Dholpur railway station panel room, where officials conducted detailed checks on the signalling network and the systems governing train operations. Following this initial procedure, E. Srinivas and the technical inspection team boarded a motor trolley to evaluate the physical route stretching toward Garhi Sandra.
During the trolley run, the inspection team examined the railway track conditions, level crossings, and various automated safety components across the route. Specific stops were also made at Nurpura and Garhi Sandra railway stations to evaluate passenger amenities and operational mechanisms established at both locations.
High-Speed Run Conducted at 121 Kmph
Following the static checks and physical survey of the infrastructure, an official high-speed trial was conducted to evaluate the line under real-world operating conditions. A dedicated CRS Special Train was operated on the return route from Garhi Sandra to Dholpur, reaching a peak speed of 121 kilometres per hour.
The run was designed to measure track stability, structural capacity, vibration levels, and compliance with railway safety standards at elevated speeds. Key railway officials observing the inspection and the trial run included Ajit Singh Yadav, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), and Gagan Goyal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Agra Division under North Central Railway, alongside supporting engineering teams.
