Bringing an end to the anticipation of medical graduates across the country, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced the NEET PG results. A total of 2,65,960 candidates appeared for the entrance examination this year, vying for seats in postgraduate medical programs such as MD, MS, and DNB. The results have been published on the official web portals at natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in, effectively putting an end to days of speculation circulating on social platforms.
Examination Details and Accessing Scores
The nationwide entrance test was originally conducted on August 30. However, technical glitches at 2 examination centres located in Jaipur necessitated a re-examination for affected candidates on September 5. Following the completion of all administrative formalities, NBEMS released the consolidated result in a PDF document. Aspirants can locate their roll number in the merit list to review their obtained marks alongside their All India Rank. Individual candidate scorecards will be accessible for download starting October 1, 2026, and will remain available on the portal for a duration of six months.
Category-Wise Minimum Qualifying Cutoffs
Alongside the result declaration, the examination board released the minimum qualifying score thresholds out of a maximum of 720 marks across different candidate categories
- General and EWS Candidates: The minimum qualifying cutoff for this category stands at 262 marks.
- General PWD Category: For persons with disabilities within the general category, the cutoff is set at 244 marks.
- Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD): Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC groups and their corresponding PwBD sub-categories require a minimum of 226 marks.
Next Phase: Counselling and State Quotas
Achieving the qualifying cutoff marks establishes eligibility for admission to various clinical and non-clinical specialisations. Qualified candidates must now prepare for the centralised counselling process organised by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Meanwhile, individual states and Union Territories will formulate separate category-wise merit lists to govern admissions across respective state quota seats. Candidates have been advised to keep all mandatory verification documents ready ahead of the upcoming counselling rounds.
