A shocking case has emerged from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, where Amar Singh Chauhan, an Assistant Engineer (AE) with the Municipal Corporation, was found dead at his home after apparently hanging himself. Police recovered a two-page suicide note from his room and have seized it for investigation. Officers are examining every angle of the case in an effort to establish the exact cause of death.
Recently Transferred To Jagdalpur
According to available information, Amar Singh Chauhan had recently been transferred to Jagdalpur. Early findings suggest he was under mental stress over the transfer. However, police have not yet confirmed this as the final cause of his death, and the investigation remains open. Officials say it would be premature to draw conclusions before every fact in the case has been verified.
Emotional Note Addressed To His Wife
The most significant detail to emerge so far is the content of the suicide note itself. In it, Chauhan referred to his distress over the transfer. He also left an emotional message for his wife, writing, Mahi, forgive me. Whatever anyone says about me, do not listen to them. The note also names a few other individuals, and police are now examining what role, if any, they may have played.
Police Rush To The Spot, Body Sent For Postmortem
As soon as news of the incident broke, police from the Civil Line police station reached the location. Chauhan died by hanging inside his own home, which falls within the Civil Line police station area. Reports indicate that before taking his life, he had also cut his wrist. Police took custody of the body and sent it for a postmortem examination, while the suicide note and other evidence found in the room have been secured for further investigation.
EOW Angle Also Under The Scanner
Investigators are not restricting themselves to the transfer or personal circumstances alone. Police are also looking into aspects connected to the Economic Offences Investigation Branch (EOW) in relation to the case. Officials have stated that every angle will be investigated impartially, and any conclusion will only be reached once all facts have been thoroughly verified.

Police are currently questioning Chauhan's family members, colleagues and others connected to him. His mobile phone, documents and other pieces of evidence are also being examined as part of the probe.
