India's Under-19 squad has been selected for the upcoming home series against Australia Under-19, featuring the sons of former Indian captains Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. Aryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid have both earned spots in the team for the upcoming ODI and Multi-Day fixtures scheduled to begin on September 18. The series provides a major platform for these rising talents to showcase their abilities against competitive international opposition.
Schedule and Captaincy Split
The bilateral series kicks off with a three-match ODI leg, with matches slated for September 18, 21, and 23. Following the 50-over games, the sides will compete in two red-ball multi-day fixtures. The first multi-day match takes place from September 27 to 30, while the second match is scheduled from October 5 to 8. Rajkot will host almost the entire tour, with the sole exception being the second multi-day encounter, which is set to be played in Ahmedabad.
The team management has opted for a dual leadership structure across the two formats. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the ODI team with Yashvardhan Chauhan acting as his vice-captain. For the multi-day matches, the roles will reverse, with Yashvardhan Chauhan leading the side and Lakshya Raichandani serving as the vice-captain.
Domestic Form of Aryavir and Anvay
Wicketkeeper-batter Anvay Dravid previously toured Sri Lanka in July, where he produced a notable performance by scoring 87 runs in the second ODI. He features in the ODI squad as one of two designated wicketkeepers alongside Rajat Baghel. Meanwhile, Aryavir Sehwag comes into the team on the back of impressive runs in age-group cricket for Delhi. In the Cooch Behar Trophy 2025, playing for Delhi U-19 against Meghalaya, he hit a marathon 297 off 309 deliveries, falling just three runs short of a triple century and amassing a total of 496 runs in the tournament.
