Renshaw's 109-run effort also stands as the highest individual score by an Australian batter in an ODI played in Zimbabwe. Furthermore, it marks the first time since 2004 that an Australian batsman has scored an ODI century against Zimbabwe, an achievement last reached when Michael Clarke stroked an unbeaten 105. From a middle-order perspective, Renshaw became the first Australian since Glenn Maxwell's unforgettable 201-run World Cup knock in 2023 to score an ODI century batting at number six or lower.
A historic first from the lower middle order
In the entire history of one-day internationals between Australia and Zimbabwe, no Australian batting at number six or lower had ever registered a three-figure score. The prior benchmark for that specific batting position was held by Damien Martyn, who scored an unbeaten 57 runs in Bulawayo back in 1999. Renshaw comprehensively eclipsed that record, ensuring his maiden ODI ton arrived with multiple historic achievements attached to his name.
