Police have apprehended an absconding assistant teacher in Madhya Pradesh who was wanted for allegedly molesting and engaging in obscene acts with girl students at the Sultanpur school located within the Indwar police station jurisdiction of Umaria district. The accused teacher was attempting to flee from Umaria to escape police custody when officers intercepted and caught him around 2 am late at night.
According to reports, the assistant teacher posted at the Sultanpur school faced grave accusations of molestation and inappropriate behavior involving several female students. Following the emergence of the complaint, law enforcement registered a case against the accused teacher and initiated a manhunt. The accused had been evading arrest ever since the incident came to light.

Authorities received a tip-off indicating that the accused was planning to escape outside the boundaries of Umaria. Acting on this intelligence, police set up a cordon and apprehended the teacher around 2 am during the dead of night. An official revealed that a teacher at a government primary school in Madhya Pradesh's Umaria district is accused of molesting three girl students and showing them obscene videos. According to the official, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following a complaint lodged by a parent. The accused teacher was immediately suspended from service and attached to the block education officer's office in Manpur.
The complainant alleged that teacher Komalchand Gupta lured three girls with chocolates on August 22, molested them, and displayed obscene videos. The official added that the accused also threatened the girls with a stick if they disclosed the incident to anyone. A woman from Sultanpur village had initially reported to the government primary school's in-charge headmaster that assistant teacher Komalchand Gupta had misbehaved with the girls. The official stated that a subsequent inquiry confirmed the allegations leveled against Gupta.
