A shocking tragedy has struck the Haryanvi music industry following the murder of 35-year-old singer Ankit Baliyan in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The incident took place on the evening of August 26 at around 7:00 PM, right after the artist finished his routine workout session at a gym located in the Kotwali City area. Four unidentified assailants riding two motorcycles intercepted him outside the facility and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Ankit Baliyan, who belonged to Bantikheda village, was exiting the fitness center when the armed attackers launched the ambush. Emergency authorities were alerted about the shooting through the Dial 112 hotline. Bystanders and responders quickly rushed the injured singer to a nearby hospital, where attending doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. The sudden killing has triggered widespread shock and tension across the local community.
Chilling Final Instagram Video Goes Viral
Following his demise, a final video posted on Ankit Baliyan's official Instagram account has drawn intense public attention. Uploaded barely two hours prior to the fatal shooting, the clip captured the 35-year-old artist appearing relaxed and cheerful. In the video, he sang lines from a Haryanvi track, stating, “मर्डर मार दे सड़क के ऊपर, जो खड़के का वो भटकेगा.” The uncanny timing of the post, directly referencing a street murder, has led to heavy circulation across social media platforms.
Police Probe and CCTV Footage Analysis
Law enforcement authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the homicide. Superintendent of Police N.P. Singh stated that police teams dispatched immediately after receiving the information around 7:00 PM. Forensic units recovered two to three empty cartridge shells from the crime scene. Investigators are currently scanning CCTV camera feeds from surrounding routes to identify the four suspects on the two bikes. Police have completed the preliminary panchnama report, dispatched the body for a post-mortem examination, and formed specialized units to trace the perpetrators.
