The ongoing investigation into the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has uncovered fresh details regarding how the accused scouted the residences of prominent film personalities. According to information from the Mumbai Crime Branch, the suspects stayed at a hotel in Andheri upon arriving in Mumbai. Every day, they would step out and hail random auto-rickshaws to move around the city.
Using Auto-Rickshaws for Surveillance
Investigators learned that the accused would tell the auto-rickshaw drivers that they were visiting Mumbai for the first time and wanted to catch a glimpse of Bollywood stars' homes. In exchange, the drivers typically charged them around 1,000 rupees. The suspects repeatedly paid this amount to various drivers while conducting reconnaissance around the properties of multiple high-profile actors. On several occasions, they also searched for the addresses of these celebrities online themselves and directed the drivers to those locations.
Surat Connection and Hidden Evidence
The probe further revealed that after executing the shooting, the suspects travelled to Surat, where they concealed the firearm. According to details shared by investigators, the accused also hid their mobile phones at an undisclosed location in the same city. The police are currently verifying the information provided during interrogation and are taking local assistance in Surat to locate the hidden weapon and devices.
Moving Toward MCOCA Charges
In response to the gravity of the syndicate's operations, the Crime Branch has added Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to organized crime. Following these developments, the likelihood of invoking the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act against the accused has significantly increased. However, the final decision regarding applying this stringent law will depend entirely on the final conclusions of the probe and the fulfillment of all legal criteria.
