A long-standing dispute centered around a girl turned deadly in Delhi's Pitampura area, resulting in a brutal knife attack on two friends who had gone out to witness a Ramlila immersion. Sixteen-year-old Arun lost his life while trying to save his friend Ashu, who sustained critical injuries during the assault. Sudden Attack During Ramlila Immersion
The incident unfolded at the Ramlila ground located in PU Block, Pitampura, within the jurisdiction of the Maurya Enclave police station. A large crowd had gathered at the venue for the immersion ceremony. Arun and his friend Ashu were among the attendees, completely unaware of the danger awaiting them. According to allegations, around half a dozen youths cornered Ashu at the venue and immediately began stabbing him with knives. When 16-year-old Arun stepped in to protect his friend from the assailants, the attackers turned on him as well. Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds and collapsed on the ground, creating panic and chaos among the surrounding crowd.
Hospital Admission and Critical Condition
Following the violent assault, both Arun and Ashu were rushed to Ambedkar Hospital in critical condition. Upon arrival, doctors examined Arun and declared him dead. Meanwhile, Ashu remains hospitalized in serious condition, having suffered deep knife wounds on his thighs and other parts of his body. Ashu's mother stated that her son was subjected to a merciless attack and is currently fighting for his life. The sudden turn of events has left the victim's families in deep shock and grief.

Family members revealed that the roots of this bloodshed lie in a dispute that began nearly a year ago. Ashu's aunt explained that Ashu previously had a relationship with a girl, which led to online arguments and abuse exchanged over Instagram. The matter had escalated to the local police station at the time, where both parties reached a formal compromise after apologies were exchanged. However, the family alleges that another youth connected to the same girl held a grudge against Ashu despite the settlement. Relatives claim that the attackers went to the Ramlila venue specifically to settle this old score, targeting Ashu while ultimately claiming Arun's life when he intervened. Police are investigating all aspects to determine the precise sequence of events.
Protests Outside Maurya Enclave Police Station
Enraged by the murder, family members and local residents gathered outside the Maurya Enclave police station and blocked the road in protest. The demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest and strict punishment of all individuals involved in the attack.
