A bitter family dispute over the financial proceeds of a land transaction escalated into severe violence in Surat, Gujarat. The incident, which took place on 1 November near Sailal Society in the Hirabaug area, involved a man physically assaulting members of his own family. According to the formal complaint filed by the victim, the altercation was rooted in disagreements over the distribution of pending dues from a previously concluded land sale. The complainant stated that she was returning home from her sister's residence when her brother-in-law, identified as Paresh Raghani, intercepted her. An argument immediately erupted regarding the unpaid balance from the transaction, rapidly turning aggressive as tempers flared on the street.

While present at the crime scene under police custody, the accused was made to tender a public apology for his actions.
