Recounting the sequence of events, Fahima, the sister of deceased Ajmal, stated that her brother was spending time with his companion Faizan when an acquaintance approached them. This acquaintance had reportedly been embroiled in a lingering disagreement with another group of youths concerning the mobile game Free Fire. Ajmal and Faizan accompanied the individual in an attempt to mediate between the opposing factions and resolve the tensions. However, their intervention to pacify the quarreling youths escalated rapidly into violence.

According to family members, the confrontation intensified rapidly before two to three individuals appeared outside the premises of the housing society. Armed with knives, the assailants ambushed Ajmal and Faizan, launching repeated and forceful stabs at the two boys. Both victims suffered catastrophic injuries from multiple stab wounds and succumbed to the assault on the spot. The brutal incident left local residents in deep shock and mourning as the attackers fled the scene immediately after the killing.
