A violent confrontation triggered by a mobile messaging status has left a 16-year-old boy fighting for his life in Maharashtra's Pune district. The assault took place at a garment shop in the Shivaji Chowk vicinity of Talegaon Dabhade. The victim, identified as Devendra Jadhav, was on duty inside the store when three youths entered the premises and launched a vicious assault using a sickle. Devendra sustained critical wounds during the assault and was immediately transferred to an adjacent hospital, where medical personnel continue to monitor his condition closely.

Devendra Jadhav was employed as a shop assistant at the clothing establishment located near Shivaji Chowk. According to initial details, the dispute originated over a phrase that Devendra had uploaded as his mobile status, reading 'King Is Back'. This phrase led to an argument between Devendra and the suspects. The altercation escalated within minutes as the three young men pulled out a sickle and repeatedly struck the teenager inside the retail premises, leaving him grievously injured on the shop floor before fleeing the location.
