According to the information gathered, the devastating event took place on Thursday afternoon between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM. At the time of the crime, only the mother and her toddler were present inside the home. As detailed in the First Information Report, the accused mother secured herself and the little girl inside a bedroom. She then wielded a sharp knife and inflicted a severe blow to the child's neck, causing critical injuries that rapidly proved fatal.
Discovery by Relative and Hospital Timeline
The tragedy came to light when a relative noticed that neither the mother nor the child had emerged from the room for a considerable period. Sensing something unusual, the relative knocked on the locked door. The mother, identified as Christy, opened the door and confessed directly to the relative that she had killed her daughter. Panic immediately ensued, and the severely injured toddler was rushed to the nearby Vilavoorkkal Primary Health Centre. Owing to her critical condition, she was immediately referred for advanced care and transported via a 108 ambulance to the SAT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
