A horrifying double murder has surfaced in the Bholkheda area under the Krishna Nagar police station jurisdiction in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A Home Guard personnel allegedly murdered his wife and 32-year-old daughter following prolonged domestic strife and escalating family tensions. The grim incident triggered widespread shock across the local neighborhood and prompted an immediate response from senior police officials.
Strangulation with Phone Cable Followed by Sudden Surrender
According to police findings, the accused Home Guard, identified as Ravishankar, used a mobile charger cable to strangle his wife Shyam Dulari and his 32-year-old divorced daughter Pooja while they were asleep at night. Instead of fleeing the crime scene, Ravishankar walked straight into the local police station and confessed to the killings before turning himself in. During initial questioning, the accused stated that he was completely overwhelmed by chronic domestic discord and mental stress, which ultimately drove him to commit the heinous act late at night.
Celebratory Party Preceded the Fatal Turn of Events
DCP South Mohammad Mushtaq inspected the scene and confirmed that the suspect had been formally taken into custody, though the definitive underlying motive remains under active investigation. Inquiry records indicate that the deceased daughter, Pooja, had been married twice, once in 2018 and again in 2021, but both marriages ended in failure. Following the divorces, she had been residing with her parents. Investigators also uncovered that Pooja was in regular contact with an unidentified young man, who is now being questioned as part of the ongoing probe.
Police officials suspect the case may involve more intricate dynamics than initial appearances suggest. Notably, just one night prior to the killings, the family had hosted a cheerful gathering with a joyful atmosphere. Authorities are trying to determine what abrupt escalation caused a seemingly peaceful household to witness such extreme violence within hours. Records also establish that on the night of the incident, Shyam Dulari was sleeping alone in her bedroom, whereas Ravishankar was present in his daughter's room.
Second Daughter Files Complaint as Statements Arouse Suspicion
The accused's second daughter came forward to lodge a formal written complaint against her father regarding the double murder. However, investigating officers noted that several accounts provided by relatives and acquaintances appeared suspiciously rehearsed, reminiscent of the narrative style seen in the film 'Drishyam'. The police are currently evaluating all forensic and testimonial aspects of the case to establish whether a deeper conspiracy or hidden circumstance triggered the fatal sequence of events.
