Umesh Chauhan, who sustained a severe bullet injury during the firing incident near Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car, has spoken about the terrifying episode for the first time from his hospital bed. He had gone near a football ground in Juhu alongside his friend to capture video footage of the actor for his YouTube channel. During this visit, gunfire was directed at Tiger Shroff's vehicle, and a stray bullet pierced Umesh's chest, eventually lodging near his liver. He was rushed to the hospital immediately and is currently receiving treatment at KEM Hospital in Mumbai. Recalling those terrifying initial moments, Umesh mentioned that he initially mistook the gunfire for a vehicle's burst tire and had no idea he had been shot until doctors examined him.
Vlogging Trip Took a Disastrous Turn
Thirty-five-year-old Umesh Chauhan had arrived on Sunday with his friend Kishor Rajbhar to record Tiger Shroff's video. Umesh runs a vlog on his YouTube channel to supplement his regular income. He explained that the incident occurred around 7 PM just as Tiger Shroff's car emerged from the football ground gate. Standing near the vehicle's window with his camera, Umesh heard a loud bang, which he initially believed to be a blown-out tire. Within moments, however, a sharp, unbearable pain erupted in his chest. He panicked, shouted for help, and struggled to breathe, completely unaware at the time that a bullet had torn through his chest.
Hospital Examination Revealed the Bullet Injury
As the pain intensified, Umesh sought help from people nearby, who initially took him to Cooper Hospital for preliminary checkups. He was subsequently transferred to KEM Hospital for advanced care. Medical examinations at the facility confirmed that a bullet had penetrated his chest during the shooting, causing significant damage to his liver. He is currently admitted to the ICU, where doctors continue to monitor his condition closely.
Support from Tiger Shroff's Family
Amid this profound crisis, Tiger Shroff's family reached out to check on Umesh's health. Umesh shared that the actor's mother visited him in the hospital to offer reassurance. She promised him and his family that they would stand by them through this difficult period and provide all necessary assistance. Tiger Shroff also extended wishes for his speedy recovery. This gesture has given the family some emotional relief as Umesh fights to regain his health despite the ongoing complications caused by his liver injury.
Mounting Challenges for His Expectant Family
The incident has left Umesh's family in an extremely vulnerable position. Residing in the Mankhurd area of Mumbai, he lives with his wife and their six-year-old son, while his wife is currently eight months pregnant. On weekdays, Umesh takes on odd jobs to support his household, using Sundays to shoot celebrity videos for extra income. Following the shooting, his family faces severe emotional and financial distress while waiting for his recovery. Investigations into the shooting have revealed that the perpetrators carried out the attack after being lured by a mere 35,000 rupees and promises of jobs abroad.
