According to data from SoSoValue, inflows into US-listed spot exchange-traded funds reached $924 million through Friday, cooling down from the $1.92 billion recorded in the week ending August 21. This brings cumulative inflows to $55 billion, with net assets under management holding firm at $98 billion.
The weekend marked the first direct military exchanges between Washington and Tehran in weeks, reigniting regional instability. The US Central Command announced targeted strikes against what were identified as Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. This renewed conflict unfolds within a six-month war, following a strategic shift announced by US President Donald Trump toward economic pressure and fresh sanctions aimed at breaking the diplomatic stalemate.
Bitcoin continues to trade around $78,000, maintaining a constructive near-term bullish bias as prices remain comfortably above major Exponential Moving Averages. The 50-day EMA sits at $69,687, the 100-day EMA rests at $68,889, and the 200-day EMA trails at $72,249.36, underlining a well-supported upward trajectory following the recent rebound from the mid-$60,000 range.
Momentum indicators remain favorable, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence settling from prior peaks while staying in positive territory, and the Relative Strength Index hovering just under the overbought threshold near 70. Immediate support is located around the recent close of $77,995, where pullbacks would test the current pivot before looking toward deeper demand near the rising 200-day EMA.
Meanwhile, gold experienced downward pressure, testing the $4,400 support level and prompting caution regarding a potential bearish shift in its technical setup. Despite this pullback, the precious metal retains a positive near-term bias by staying above its clustered moving averages between $4,315 and $4,365, with initial support anchored near the 100-day EMA at $4,363.
