In the wake of recent unrest surrounding a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, authorities in the national capital have initiated strict legal measures regarding the digital circulation of inflammatory material. The IFSO unit of Delhi Police has formally issued notices under various sections of the BNS to four of the world's largest social media platforms, namely X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. This decisive action comes in response to the rapid spread of fake videos, misinformation, and deceptive content that authorities state is capable of disrupting public harmony and destabilizing the national atmosphere.
Immediate Removal and User Details Demanded
Through these official notices, the law enforcement agency has instructed the tech companies to immediately remove all posts, clips, and videos that threaten peace and order. Furthermore, authorities have demanded specific data and account details for the handles responsible for using abusive language and posting derogatory remarks targeting the Prime Minister. The ongoing investigation aims to identify the individuals behind these malicious campaigns and hold them accountable under the law.
