Fake Health Supplement Racket Busted in Delhi as Two Youths Land in Police Net

Delhi police have arrested two 22-year-old men involved in providing bank accounts for a cyber fraud syndicate operating through a sham health supplement website.

A deceptive cyber network that duped unsuspecting consumers under the pretext of delivering medicines and health supplements online has been dismantled in Delhi. The East District cyber police station apprehended two 22-year-old men involved in the financial routing of the syndicate. Officials identified the arrested individuals as Hiten Kumar and Ayush Arya. During the initial probe, investigators uncovered suspicious transactions totaling 2,66,437 rupees routed through two bank accounts, alongside seizing an iPhone 15 Pro from their possession.

Deceptive Digital Storefront Used to Target Buyers

The operation relied heavily on deceptive online marketing to trap prospective buyers across regions, including Punjab. The syndicate conducted its fraudulent retail activities using a portal registered as www.openlifevedixa.com, falsely showcasing genuine dietary supplements and healthcare products. The investigation began after a complaint from Dharamveer Singh, a resident of Amritsar. Singh reported depositing approximately 83,257 rupees through online channels between September 27 and September 30 to purchase goods from the site, only to receive no deliveries. Following his complaint, the East District cyber police formally lodged an FIR on October 21 to trace the money trail.

Under interrogation, Ayush disclosed that he had provided his own account and his friend's banking credentials to his cousin Hiten Kumar in exchange for a 10 percent commission. The siphoned money was regularly withdrawn in cash using ATMs and handed directly to Hiten.

Hunt Underway for Website Operator

Hiten revealed the involvement of another individual who allegedly operated the fraudulent website and collected payments from online shoppers. Law enforcement teams are currently tracking down the website administrator and other operatives tied to the broader syndicate. Digital evidence recovered from the seized iPhone 15 Pro confirmed direct links to the fraudulent portal along with WhatsApp conversations between the co-conspirators. Technical forensic teams are examining the mobile device to uncover additional victims and locate remaining gang members.
