Extensive security protocols have taken effect across the national capital in anticipation of the scheduled CJP protest on October 10. To maintain public order and pre-empt any untoward disruptions, Delhi Police alongside paramilitary units have mobilised more than 23,000 personnel, focusing significant surveillance on Jantar Mantar and other sensitive pockets of the city. Rigorous barricading and intensified checkpoints across major arterial corridors have considerably affected daily traffic flows and standard commuter movement. Prioritising student safety amidst the anticipated congestion, numerous prominent educational institutions throughout the city have resolved to suspend in-person operations.
School Operational Shifts: Remote Learning, Suspended Sports, and Rescheduled Meetings
Anticipating widespread gridlock and taking parental concerns into consideration, school administrations in Delhi have adjusted their operational calendars. Physical attendance has made way for home-based virtual instruction, while extracurricular sessions, parent interactions, and special events have been temporarily shelved.
- Sardar Patel Vidyalaya: Administrative instructions outline that students from Class 6 through Class 12 will transition entirely to online learning on October 10. Additionally, the standard stay-back provision for students has been withdrawn, and the formal inaugural ceremony for the scheduled Activity Week has been deferred.
- Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School: Keeping transit challenges and pupil safety at the forefront, the administration has modified the timetable for its parent-teacher meeting. Authorities noted that a revised schedule will be communicated once normal commuting conditions resume.
- Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya: Due to its close proximity to the demonstration venue at Jantar Mantar, the school called off its Saturday Sports Day rehearsals. Furthermore, supplementary academic classes planned for pupils in Class 9 through Class 12 were struck off the agenda.
School Holidays in Uttar Pradesh for Pitru Visarjan
Simultaneously, educational schedules in parts of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh have seen scheduled closures stemming from religious observances rather than administrative security directives. School holidays were designated across Prayagraj, Hamirpur, and Hathras on account of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, marking the occasion of Pitru Visarjan.
Mass Transit Curbs: Suspensions Across 56 Metro Stations and Passenger Train Cancellations
The capital's public transit apparatus has undergone substantial restrictions to support security enforcement. Authorities announced the temporary closure of 56 metro stations, with gates either sealed or commuter access strictly regulated across over 50 stations located in designated security zones. Intercity rail connectivity has also borne the brunt of these disruptions, leading to the cancellation of multiple passenger trains operating to and from Delhi. Cancellations specifically affect several premium train services arriving from corridors such as Kanpur, Bihar, Jaipur, and Itarsi. Commuters traversing the capital region have been cautioned to verify real-time traffic and transit advisories prior to undertaking journeys.
