Passengers intending to travel towards the national capital are being urged to confirm their train running status well in advance of departure. A protest demonstration by CJP against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and SIR is scheduled in Delhi on October 10. In anticipation of severe vehicular congestion across Central Delhi, railway authorities have decided to cancel multiple passenger trains to assist local traffic management. The service disruptions impact 19 trains, prominently featuring high-capacity services such as the Magadh Express, Tejas Rajdhani Express, and Sampoorna Kranti Express.
Morning Traffic Advisory Triggers Disruptions
According to information released by Northern Railway, this decision aligns with a dedicated traffic advisory scheduled to remain active from 4 am to 2 pm. Because the curbs coincide with peak travel and commuting hours, passengers entering Delhi face significant operational delays and cancellations. Authorities have emphasized that travelers should review their train status before heading to boarding stations so that alternate travel arrangements can be planned without last-minute panic.
Operational Adjustments at Major Terminals
The cancellations primarily involve services linked to major hubs, notably New Delhi Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Station. Operational arrangements regarding selected train routes and destination terminals may also face alterations depending on ground realities. Railway officials stated that if heavy traffic congestion develops around these key terminal areas, contingency options such as terminating incoming trains short at preceding major stations could be implemented to prevent gridlock.
