A sensational shooting incident was reported from the PP Pur police station area in Delhi during the intervening night of July 27 and 28 at around 12:41 AM. The attack resulted in the death of 28-year-old Mohammad Irshad Alam alias Guddu, while 27-year-old Mohammad Farooq sustained bullet injuries. Upon receiving a PCR call regarding the firing, local police along with senior officials including the SHO, ACP, and DCP swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.
Crime Scene Investigation and Recovery
Police officers immediately rushed both victims to the hospital following their arrival at the spot. Medical authorities stated that 28-year-old Mohammad Irshad Alam was hit by multiple bullets and had also suffered injuries on his neck from a sharp-edged weapon. Doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, and his body was preserved for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the other victim, 27-year-old Mohammad Farooq, sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand. He was administered treatment at the AIIMS Trauma Center and discharged after receiving primary medical care. A crime team along with forensic experts thoroughly inspected the spot. Investigators recovered 10 spent bullet cartridge shells and 2 live cartridges from the crime scene, which have been seized for further forensic examination.
Police Operation and Case Registration
To apprehend the perpetrators involved in the shooting, multiple dedicated police teams have been constituted. Law enforcement authorities are scanning footage from nearby CCTV cameras and utilizing technical surveillance to trace the suspects. An FIR is being registered under relevant statutory provisions as the investigation proceeds.
Spate of Recent Firing Incidents in National Capital
The latest shooting comes amid a series of similar gun violence incidents in Delhi. Earlier, in the Madhu Vihar area, a property dispute culminated in gunfire outside a banquet hall during the evening following a day-long conflict, leaving a woman injured.
Furthermore, in June this year, gunfire erupted outside singer Guru Randhawa's gym located in Delhi's Paschim Vihar. Anil Pandit, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for that shooting through an audio note and Facebook post threats. Earlier in February, unidentified armed assailants fired shots at the vehicle of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's lawyer near ISBT in Delhi. These recurring incidents of violence have drawn attention to the law and order situation across the capital.
