Activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a major demonstration outside Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi to protest against the recent police action on student aspirants in Jharkhand. During the high-voltage agitation, angry protesters dismantled police barricades, prompting security personnel to resort to a lathi-charge to control the crowd.
Outrage Over Police Action in Jharkhand
The anger surrounding the recent police crackdown on students protesting issues linked to JPSC and JSSC examinations in Jharkhand has reached the national capital. Hundreds of students gathered under the banner of ABVP, shouting slogans against the state administration. The protesters asserted that force was unjustly used against youth who were peacefully demanding transparency and fairness in competitive exams.
Political Confrontation from Streets to Parliament
The controversy surrounding the crackdown on students has intensified political friction across the spectrum. While state-wide protests and call for closures continue in Jharkhand, the issue sparked heated exchanges inside Parliament between NDA and opposition MPs. Student organizations and opposition leaders accused the ruling administration of stifling student voices, whereas government representatives rejected the criticism.
Security Deployment and Police Crackdown
Security had been stepped up outside Jharkhand Bhawan in anticipation of the demonstration. However, determined protesters broke through the defensive lines established by security forces. As the crowd attempted to push closer to the building premises, police officers launched a lathi-charge to disperse the gathering and detained several activists on the spot.
