A major interstate human trafficking syndicate operating across multiple Indian states has been busted by the Delhi Police after an extensive multi-state operation. The criminal network targeted financially vulnerable women via social media platforms, tempting them with promises of lucrative spa jobs, attractive salaries, and a comfortable lifestyle. Once the victims fell into the trap, they were transported from Delhi to other states and handed over to local spa owners operating illegal commercial sex networks. Police teams conducted coordinated raids across Delhi, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, rescuing 10 female victims from the clutches of the traffickers.
Missing 15-Year-Old Girl Uncovers Interstate Trafficking Network
The investigation began after a 15-year-old girl went missing from the Dakshin Puri area of Delhi on May 9. Following a complaint lodged by her mother, a case was registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station. As investigators began analyzing technical surveillance and the teenager's digital footprint, they discovered that she had been approached by recruiters on social media. The perpetrators had seduced her with promises of high-paying employment at a spa center along with free lodging and an upgraded lifestyle, leading to her sudden disappearance.
Delhi Police Drive to Mundra in Gujarat, Rescuing First Victim from Hotel Spa
Digital evidence and mobile tracking ultimately pinpointed the missing girl's location to Mundra in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Acting swiftly, a specialized team from the Delhi Police traveled to Gujarat in a private vehicle. With the assistance of the local Gujarat police, officers raided a spa center operating inside a hotel in Mundra, Kutch. The missing 15-year-old girl was successfully recovered from the premises. During the raid, police apprehended the spa owner, identified as Damani Sushil Haresh alias Sushil, alongside receptionist Lakshya and two minors found on site.
Raids in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh and Ganesh Nagar, Delhi Yield 9 More Rescues
Interrogation of the arrested suspects led the investigative team to Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh. A raid on a local spa center in Ballia resulted in the rescue of seven more young women. Police arrested two individuals, Monu Sharma and Sanjeev Maurya, who were allegedly managing the illegal spa facility. Continuing the crackdown, officers targeted another premises located in Ganesh Nagar, Delhi, rescuing two additional female victims and arresting a 27-year-old woman responsible for running the location.
Modus Operandi of the Trafficking Syndicate Explained
Investigators revealed that the syndicate carefully identified young women in difficult personal or economic circumstances through social media accounts and personal referrals. The recruiters offered them attractive wages, accommodation, and better living conditions in return for working at urban spa establishments. Once the victims arrived in Delhi, they were segregated and dispatched to affiliated spa operators in different states. A total of six key accused have been formally arrested so far in connection with the trafficking ring.
Manhunt Launched for Key Coordinator and Accomplice
Police have identified a Delhi-based coordinator named Vinay alias Mahadev as a central figure in the operation. Vinay was allegedly responsible for organizing logistics, transportation, and accommodation for the victims as they were moved across state borders. Another accomplice named Prince, who assisted in physically transporting the girls, is also named in the case. Both Vinay and Prince are currently absconding, and search operations are underway to arrest them. Additionally, three minors were apprehended during the raids; based on recorded statements, two were classified as victims and a separate FIR has been registered.
