The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow has called off its offline recruitment examination for nursing officer and hospital attendant posts. The decision came in the wake of widespread complaints regarding center mismanagement, technical glitches, and alleged unfair practices during the test. The administration has officially referred the entire matter to the Special Task Force (STF) for an inquiry.
Thousands Appeared Across Multiple Centers
Part of a drive covering 1,479 vacancies, the stage 2 examination took place across seven designated centers in two separate shifts. Around 8,500 candidates, including many traveling from neighboring states, participated in the exercise. However, during the morning shift, severe operational issues and allegations of malpractice sparked frustration, prompting candidates to protest at the venues.
Administrative Decision and Rescheduling Plans
Institute authorities stated that technical disruptions occurred at several examination centers during the first shift, making it necessary to cancel both sessions across all venues. SGPGI announced that fresh dates for the rescheduled examination will be released soon. Candidates will be notified in advance and have been advised to monitor the official portal regularly for official updates.
