Following the transformation and development of Ayodhya after the construction of the Ram Temple, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is moving ahead with plans to build a dharamshala named after his father, the celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The planned facility aims to provide organized and comfortable lodging for devotees and visitors travelling to the holy city. Formal applications for blueprint clearance have been submitted to the Ayodhya Development Authority, where statutory assessment procedures are currently underway.
Plot Acquired Along Dashrath Path for the Project
The site chosen for the memorial guest house was purchased by Amitabh Bachchan through a private property firm near Dashrath Path in Ayodhya. The land parcel falls within a commercial property development venture located right by this key route. This location will now host the Harivansh Rai Bachchan dharamshala, designed specifically to address the lodging requirements of incoming pilgrims. Since the inauguration of the Ram Temple, footfall across the city has surged, creating a strong requirement for quality accommodation close to primary transit paths.
More Than 20 Rooms Planned as Public Notice Period Begins
Details shared by the Ayodhya Development Authority confirm that the proposed guest house will house more than 20 rooms. Before any physical construction can break ground, development authorities must conclude standard regulatory scrutiny of the site layout. As part of this statutory protocol, the authority has published the application in newspapers to invite public objections within a designated timeframe. Once the window for filing objections closes, officials will examine the legal paperwork and technical details of the proposal before granting building approval under municipal regulations.
Development Authority Highlights Benefits for Incoming Pilgrims
Anurag Jain, Vice Chairman of the Ayodhya Development Authority, stated that prominent public figures from across the country have been contributing to the ongoing development of Ayodhya. He confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan submitted the blueprint application for constructing the dharamshala with more than 20 rooms. Jain noted that the objective behind establishing this property is to offer orderly, well-managed lodging facilities for travellers arriving from distant locations. The proposal is presently progressing through the objection notice phase, after which municipal clearance will be issued upon successful verification.
