Born on August 23, 1968, in a Malayali family based in Delhi, his musical journey remains one of the most inspiring stories in the entertainment world. Early Passion and Working as a Salesman
KK developed a deep affinity for music at an early age, having started to sing when he was just two years old. During his college days at KiroriMori College in Delhi, he actively participated in his rock band. However, very few people are aware that before entering the film industry, KK worked as a salesman for approximately eight months. He took up the job because he wanted to marry his first love and needed to prove to her family that he held a settled job. It did not take long, however, for him to realize that his true calling and ultimate destination lay in music.
The Transition to Jingles and Major Breakthroughs
Upon moving to Mumbai, KK began his professional journey by singing advertising jingles, recording for several popular brands through UTV. He secured his first major break in Bollywood in 1996 with the song Chhod Aaye Hum from the film Maachis. Nevertheless, the ultimate turning point of his life arrived in 1999 with the release of the track Tadap Tadap from the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This single song transformed him into an overnight star and opened doors to a massive influx of musical projects.
Multilingual Success and Sudden Passing on Stage
