She explained that the township was so exceptionally expansive, lush, and tranquil that anyone living there would hardly suspect they were situated inside a densely packed, bustling metropolis like Mumbai. The serene greenery provided a peaceful cocoon, offering her an ideal setting away from the city's commotion during her youth.
From Rawatbhata to Mumbai Following a Father’s Transfer
Ghoshal’s upbringing was deeply connected to India's scientific infrastructure. While her birthplace was West Bengal, her early childhood was spent in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan, where her father Bishwajit Ghoshal worked as an engineer with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India.
A decisive turning point came in 1997 when her father was transferred to the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai. The entire family subsequently moved to the metropolis, settling inside the specialized residential colony. In Mumbai, she completed her formal school education at the Atomic Energy Central School located within Anushakti Nagar itself.

Upon completing her schooling, Ghoshal initially enrolled in the science stream at Atomic Energy Junior College. She began learning music at the tender age of four, and by age six, she had embarked on formal training in classical Hindustani music.
