The announcement came during a pre-release event held in Hyderabad ahead of the launch of the Telugu version of Ramayana. At the gathering, Malhotra hinted that the creative team intends to turn the epic into a massive multimedia universe. He mentioned plans to develop spin-off series, television shows, and even animated video games based on the mythology.

The producer emphasized that the initial intention was never to confine the journey of Lord Rama to just one or two movies and finish it there.
